I have been known to freelance...

I'm always on the lookout for cool and interesting projects. If you're looking for an experienced LAMP developer or a fast-learning Ruby on Rails developer, please contact me to discuss details.

Programming Languages...

Currently, I do almost all of my development with LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP5), but but i can hack my way around with Python, Ruby (rails), and Perl with a little help from google. I also dabble around with Javascript AJAX (Prototype & Scriptaculous).

I do most of my development work on Mac OSX and deployments onto Debian GNU/Linux. I prefer to use open-source tools and platform-agnostic languages whenever i can.

Current Employment

I am currently employed by EAC as a contract programmer. My job mainly consists of: (Although as anyone who has ever worked at a small company knows, I also do a lot other miscellaneous things in addition to my "real" job)

The EAC.com website helped to land a $4 million dollar contract with a major new client. The client mentioned being impressed by the site and how it made EAC stand out from competitors.

Organizations / Websites I am currently (or have been) involved with

January 2005 - Present

Did all the coding for EAC.com (my current employer's website). The site is implemented in PHP5 and makes heavy use of object-oriented design. The site was a major factor in landing EAC a $4 million contract from a major US manufacturing company.

2002 - Present

Developer (through multiple revisions) of the Eva's Village Website. My friend and co-worker Nick David did the design work and I turned his design into a fully functional website. Eva's Village is a local non-profit with facilities for: addiction rehab, homeless shelters, soup kitchens, etc. It's located in Paterson, NJ. They're great people doing great work and if you have any spare time or money, please think about volunteering or donating.

2003 - Present

Developer and maintainer of a custom corporate intranet for EAC. I am responsible for speaking to managers, gathering their requirements and coding everything. Some applications i've coded for the intranet are: Help Desk, Daily Annoucements, Lunch Orders, Knowledge Base.

September 2005 - December 2005

Project manager / team leader / lead developer for the NJIT capstone project. Along with some great interface designers, developed a fully-functional, working prototype of Producer's Depot - an online community that aims to be a gathering place for unsigned artists to create and post music, as well as a marketplace for well-established producers to sell their unused "beats".

Jan 3, 2002 - BusinessWeek Magazine

An article in Business Week on Jan 3, 2002 [local copy] mentions some work i did uncovering a nasty virus/backdoor that Grokster appeared to be installing. (Read more on the Grokster page)

August 2003 - November 2005

I started and ran Fraxpile Hosting and provided low-cost, high-quality, webhosting running on a debian server.
I ceased hosting becuase i decided that my time would be better spent devoted to school and clients.

1998 - 2004

I was the owner and webmaster for StraightEdge.com from around 1998 until 2004. I took it over from a friend that didn't have the time for it anymore. I sold the site in 2004.

Pre-1998

Together with Chris Masullo, we designed and implemented a website for Franklin Middle School in Nutley, NJ. Franklin School was the first school in Nutley to have any kind of web presence, and we even got a mention in the local paper about it. (The Franklin School page has since gone though many revisions and looks nothing like the original, so i didn't provide a link to it.)

Miscellaneous stuff...
